Have finished watching the first disc; am re-watching, as I type, the last two scenes. Which are probably my favorite of what I've seen so far. First, Smeagol and Gollum:
"Master's my friend!"
"You don't have any friends! No one likes you!"
*whimper* "Not listening! Not listening!"
And then I find the first scene of Faramir very interesting. He and his minions knock Frodo and Sam down, then he turns and speaks a bit to one of the dead Haradrim he just killed.
"The enemy? His sense of duty is no less than yours. I wonder what his name is...where he came from...if he was really evil at heart - or if lies and threats led him this long march from home - if he would not rather have stayed there. Peace." He turned back to Frodo and Sam. "War will make corpses of us all. Bind their hands."
ROCK ON, FARAMIR. You are an awesome person. See, he wouldn't have been judgmental about Slytherins either, I bet.
Not to mention it's a beautiful scene of the Haradrim and mûmakil. I just found out recently there are others who have a special love for Harad and the Haradrim. I believe it's because we don't know much about them, so we're free to imagine them as we will.
