Have finished watching the first disc; am re-watching, as I type, the last two scenes.  Which are probably my favorite of what I've seen so far.  First, Smeagol and Gollum:

"Master's my friend!"
"You don't have any friends!  No one likes you!"
*whimper* "Not listening!  Not listening!"

And then I find the first scene of Faramir very interesting.  He and his minions knock Frodo and Sam down, then he turns and speaks a bit to one of the dead Haradrim he just killed.

"The enemy?  His sense of duty is no less than yours.  I wonder what his name is...where he came from...if he was really evil at heart - or if lies and threats led him this long march from home - if he would not rather have stayed there.  Peace."  He turned back to Frodo and Sam.  "War will make corpses of us all.  Bind their hands."

ROCK ON, FARAMIR.  You are an awesome person.  See, he wouldn't have been judgmental about Slytherins either, I bet.

Not to mention it's a beautiful scene of the Haradrim and mûmakil.  I just found out recently there are others who have a special love for Harad and the Haradrim.  I believe it's because we don't know much about them, so we're free to imagine them as we will.

The thing about evilness- That's part of the plot/driving force behind Wicked. Makes ya think.

I still hate Slytherins. :P

I repeat, Slytherin qualities do not include evilness. They are ambitious, slyness, and a certain interest in making one's own self safe first. The last of which I possess in full. But all of them certainly do not go into the house evil - you have to understand the influence and power a house holds over its first years. That's who they're surrounded with for ten months out of the year, for seven years; that's who they learn to respect, that's who they learn to be like. If some of the Slytherins had been put into any other house when they were first years, chances are they would have become more like that other house than like a Slytherin when they leave.

I'm going to write a full essay about that someday.

No, I meant the thing that Faramir said.

And I know Slytherin doesn't include evilness, I'm just pressing your buttons. :D Doesn't mean I have to like and support them, though.

Lol, of course not. That wasn't meant to be an overreaction just a...reaction. Or something. Ignore me.
