Sometimes, I don't feel like I know fandom very well, and that makes me sad, considering the number of hours I put into it.  To help this partly - I think well-done RPGs are one of the most awesome things, but I don't know where to start.  So would you please recommend your favorite, most impressive RPGs with a well-organized background, played by good characters, that is preferably still on-going?  It can be anything in the Harry Potter universe, from the founders to the Marauders to Harry's generation to generally whatever - as long as it consists of canon characters.  Other restrictions...um, I don't like slash much.  I think that's about it.

C'mon, people, plug your (good) RPGs!

Hey! I'd definitely recommend [livejournal.com profile] racetothefinish. It's Trio-era, it's got a coherent storyline, sticks to canon, and has plenty of persistently active players. There are still lots of characters open, too!

Here from DS.

I'm currently watching a really hilarious Marauder-era RPG called [livejournal.com profile] morsmaraudre. Dunno if they plan on doing slash, but it looks like they might...? Other than that, I guess I'd recommend [livejournal.com profile] storge_space, but I reckon everyone's heard of that one...

Good luck!

I hadn't. [blush] But thanks - you're the second person to recommend [livejournal.com profile] morsmaraudre, so it must be good.

Storge is sorta famous. And it's funny (see the icon? It's from Storge.). Both of them are, actually. They're sort of satirical, and that's always fun.

Well, I think it's good, at least. :)

My favorites: [livejournal.com profile] the_leaky and [livejournal.com profile] the_dungeons. The first is very soapy and frequently hilarious. The second is more literary and very angsty. Both have an excellent cadre of writers (McKay, GatewayGirl, Kaalee, VioletQuill, Arionrhod, Marks, and plenty of others in The Leaky; Cluegirl, Spiderine, Idlerat, Femme, Cursive, Chaos Rose, Dementor Delta, and an equal number of fine ones in the Dungeons), both have strong plots that have this odd tendency to parallel each other (both had a kidnapped Remus plot at about the same time, for instance), and both are addictive.

[livejournal.com profile] the_second_war is still active, has a detailed, post-OotP, canon-like plot and has openings for several major characters, including Snape, Minerva, Poppy, Ron, & Hermione.

I mod over at Harry Potter and the Mask of the Red Death (http://www.greatestjournal.com/community/maskofreddeath). Our end of year plot has been well underway since 1st April (where we actually got to stage the entire battle in RP/ficlet format!). Lots of exciting things!

There are some really brilliant writers there, as well!

By the Lake (http://www.livejournal.com/community/by_the_lake/) is one that I'm in.

Also, natternet (http://www.livejournal.com/community/natternet/friends) is fun to watch, but everything is done in the friends view. (I've already linked you to the f-view, though, so no worries.) I'm not involved with it, but it's very, very amusing. ^_~

I am a big fan of [livejournal.com profile] harrygoesdown

It's really cute Harry/Draco. Not particularly full of content, but entertaining nonetheless.

and I highly doubt I'm the only one who bawled at the end of [livejournal.com profile] nocturne_alley

I follow [livejournal.com profile] heirandaspare, which is a Marauder's game played out by letters and very easy to keep up with.

I also like [livejournal.com profile] semper_arcanum and [livejournal.com profile] seen_unforeseen.
