It's at times like these that I'm glad I have two journals - though isn't it funny that they're both under the last clusters to be malfunctioning.

But to business.

Watched the extended edition of Return of the King last night.  Was completely blown away.  Fabulous, fabulous movies.  I think my favorite deleted scene was the drinking game between Legolas and Gimli, at the beginning of the movie in Edoras.  Or somewhere.

Gimli jumps into the drinking contest, though Legolas is a litle confused about it at first - but slowly, he gets into it.  Gimli chugs mug after mug, throwing them down into a pile on the table before him, while Legolas thoughtfully drinks, standing, and setting the mugs down.  After a long while -

"I think I feel something!"  He looks down at his hand.  "My fingers are tingling!  I believe it's affecting me."

Gimli falls over.

Legolas looks around, rather sadly.  "Game over?"

There was a really weird deleted scene between Gandalf and the Witchking, at the battle of Pelennor Fields.  The witchking breaks Gandalf's staff.  And Gandalf never gets him back.  Though his staff recovers.  Very strange.

The reunion of Aragorn and Arwen at the coronation was very sweet as well.  She was hiding behind the banner, and slowly comes forward and bows her head - Aragorn looks at her like, "What are you thinking?"  - raises her head, and suddenly leans in and kisses her.

A couple of amusing parodies, along with a few I forgot to mention whe I reviewed the book:

Movie:

PIPPIN:  I want to fight, so I'm just going to stand here and let the orcs attack me.

ARAGORN: I face you, Sauron.
SAURON: *shows Aragorn a picture of Arwen, dead*
ARAGORN: OH MY GOD! *drops palanthir*

SAM: Look, Mr. Frodo!  A star!
FRODO: *unconscious*

Book:

BALROG: Well, well, well.
GANDALF: ...God damn it.

GUARD OF ROHAN: And your sword too, if you please.
ARAGORN: Noooo.
GUARD OF ROHAN: But you have to.
ARAGORN: Fine!  Just - no one touch it.  It's very special.

After I watched it, I googled for a very long time, looking desperately for a poster - and later, just a still - of Legolas, post-war, when  he's in silks and looking so unbelievably perfect.  It took a very long time, but:

Except twenty times bigger.

In my search, I came across several other good sites and stills, to be mentioned here:

The beautiful kiss.

Another beautiful Legolas, whose face glows.

Some posters that are very nicely color-contrasted.

I love the Mumakil.

I usually don't swoon over the shots of him and his bow, but this one's unusual and incredible.

Lastly, this, for which I repeat what I just said above.

The best site I found was Easyart, and this page.  I was so sure, when I saw it, I would find what I was looking for, but no.  However, there are a very great number of rare and excellent shots of many different people.  I recommend that you look through them all - the pages load quite fast.

I noticed that too at first, but I just watched it again and the staff he has in the domes of the dead is one he took from one of the guards. He doesn't have a staff again until years later at the harbor.

Really. Hmm, didn't notice. But still, it's a weird scene.
